The Quickening
Kundalini Yoga Seasonal Practice
As winter recedes and light lengthens, something beneath the surface begins to stir. The Quickening is not dramatic. It does not rush. It emerges quietly — like green shoots pressing through snow.
The Alchemy of Spring is a five-week seasonal practice devoted to renewal through the body. Rather than approaching spring as productivity or self-improvement, this series honors it as a natural phase of reanimation. Breath deepens. Circulation awakens. What has rested begins to move again.
In the language of depth psychology, spring corresponds to a subtle turning in the process of individuation — when what has been held in shadow begins to surface, not for purging, but for integration. Release here is not rejection. It is transformation. The body participates in this alchemy through the lungs, liver, lymphatic system, and the steady balancing of prana and apana.
Across five Sundays, we move through a contained arc:
Week 1 — The First Breath
We begin with breath as threshold. Restoring depth and rhythm, we awaken the lungs and gently reestablish inner vitality.
Week 2 — The Stirring Within
Attention turns inward toward the body’s subtle processes of renewal. We support the liver and cleansing pathways with awareness and compassion rather than force.
Week 3 — Restoring Flow
Through focused kriya and pranayam, we encourage circulation and lymphatic movement, easing stagnation into steady current.
Week 4 — Inner Balance
As energy increases, discernment becomes essential. We cultivate balance — effort and surrender, activation and integration.
Week 5 — The Garden After Winter
We close by honoring emergence. Through meditation and deep relaxation, we integrate the month’s work and tend the inner garden with steadiness and care.
This series is designed as a container — a steady turning toward vitality across five Sundays. While each class can stand on its own, the full arc offers a deeper experience of seasonal renewal.
