Practicing for Global Peace: Heart Coherence & the Collective Psyche

Overview
In a world that often feels fragmented and reactive, peace can seem distant — not just politically or socially, but physiologically and psychologically. What if peace is something we cultivate in the body and nervous system, and what if doing that together matters?
Practicing for Global Peace is a four-week Kundalini Yoga series offered with a collective intention: to cultivate heart–brain–whole system coherence in community. Through breath, movement, mantra, meditation, and reflection, we explore how coherent internal regulation supports emotional steadiness and relational resonance — not only within the individual practitioner, but within the shared field of human connection we all inhabit.
This series blends ancient yogic wisdom, depth psychology, and insight into modern physiology to support a practice that is grounded, embodied, and accessible. Whether you are new to Kundalini Yoga or well-versed in practice, you are warmly invited to join.
Curriculum Overview
Each class integrates Kundalini Yoga with heart- centered awareness and relational focus — uniting breath, movement, meditation, and reflection as pathways toward coherence. Practiced in community, these modalities support steadiness within the individual and relational harmony between practitioners, contributing to broader patterns of collective calm and regulation.
Through this intentional series, we will:
- Stabilize the nervous system and foster inner regulation
- Explore coherence as a physiological and psychological state
- Practice compassion and presence without depletion
- Embody peace as a lived experience rather than an abstract ideal
What You’ll Experience
Breathwork: Guided pranayama practices that support nervous system regulation and heart–brain coherence.
Movement: Gentle, mindful sequences that open body and breath, inviting physiological integration.
Mantra: Vibrational support to entrain focus and subtle energy.
Meditation: Practices that stabilize awareness, cultivate calming rhythms, and invite inner attunement.
Reflection: Space for self-inquiry, integration, and connection to shared intention.
What Heart Coherence Means
Heart coherence refers to a state in which the rhythms of the heart, brain, breath, and nervous system become synchronized in a smooth, ordered pattern. This state is linked with emotional regulation, resilience, clarity of mind, and a sense of ease in the body. When practiced in community, this coherence becomes both individual and relational — shaping the shared field of regulation within the group and contributing to broader patterns of collective calm and focus.

This video provides a clear, accessible introduction to how heart rhythms interact with nervous system regulation and what it means for emotional balance and presence — themes that are central to our January series.

This series draws from a wide range of ancient yogic, psychological, and spiritual traditions. While Kundalini Yoga has been popularized in the West through various lineages, including that of Yogi Bhajan, I do not endorse or condone the actions he has been accused of. My teaching is informed by years of personal practice, study, and professional experience, and by a deep respect for the timeless wisdom that transcends any one individual.
